Dash Rendar is a freelance smuggler and mercenary in the Star Wars universe. He is often compared to Han Solo, sharing a similar roguish charm and piloting prowess.
Rendar's most prominent appearance is in the multimedia project Shadows of the Empire, a story set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He flies his heavily modified freighter, the Outrider, and assists the Rebel Alliance in their fight against Prince Xizor.
While not considered strictly canon anymore, Dash Rendar was a popular character who expanded the Star Wars universe during a time when there were no new movies being released. He contributed significantly to the Expanded Universe, now Legends, and his story provided exciting adventures beyond the original trilogy.
